Palmetto GBA will use the McKesson solution to help collect evidentiary and utilization information about the molecular tests that labs submit for coverage, and will also require labs to obtain a unique identifier, called a Z-Code, to track the utilization of specific tests. In the article, Matthew Zubiller, vice president of Decision Management at McKesson Health Solutions, comments on how Palmetto GBA’s efforts will help bring “transparency, clarity, and simplicity” to the process of Medicare reimbursement for molecular diagnostics.
