Livanta selects InterQual for long-term contract
Government contracting firm Livanta LLC signed a long-term agreement to industry-leading InterQual® Criteria to support its latest Medicare medical review project. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently tasked Livanta with supporting case review and monitoring activities as part of its restructured Beneficiary and Family-Centered Care (BFCC) QIO Program. The criteria set will be used to help support optimal decision-making and quality care for Medicare beneficiaries.
“At Livanta, quality healthcare is paramount. We needed the right clinical resources to carry out our goals as part of the Beneficiary and Family-Centered Care QIO Program,” said Lance Coss, program director at Livanta. “InterQual’s breadth of guidelines across multiple settings of care and evidence-based criteria will allow us to improve the care and support provided to Medicare Beneficaries and their families.”
Livanta licensed InterQual Acute, Homecare, Rehab, Subacute, Skilled Nursing Facility, Long Term Acute Care, Behavioral Health, Procedures, Imaging, simPlus, DME and Specialty Pharmacy Non-Oncology Criteria as part of the agreement. InterQual 2014 aligns clinical content with the latest medical evidence and is now used by 92 of the top 100 hospitals, and 300+ managed care organizations.
CMS contracts awarded to Livanta cover two regions: the Northeast region, known as Area 1, includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the Virgin Islands. The West Coast region, known as Area 5, includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii (including the Pacific Territories of American Samoa, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington State.
